Position Summary
As a Runner/Busser at Meat Market Steakhouse, you will support seamless dining operations by assisting with food delivery, table maintenance, and overall dining room efficiency. This hybrid role ensures timely food service, proper course pacing, and a clean, organized environment for guests and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food promptly from the kitchen to guest tables, ensuring dishes are hot, accurate, and well-presented.
- Inspect plates for quality and presentation prior to delivery.
- Assist with proper pacing of courses in coordination with servers and kitchen staff.
- Clear, sanitize, and reset tables efficiently between seatings.
- Set tables with appropriate glassware, flatware, linens, and place settings according to restaurant standards.
- Support servers by delivering bread, water, and assisting during peak service periods.
- Communicate delays, special requests, or changes between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, expo areas, service stations, and restrooms.
- Assist with table turnover to support smooth guest flow and seating efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a Runner, Busser, or in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment preferred.
- Understanding of service flow, course timing, and basic table settings.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-oriented mindset.
- Clear communication skills and ability to follow directions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
