Location: Meat Market Steakhouse, San Juan, Puerto Rico
Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Position Summary
As a Host/Hostess at Meat Market Steakhouse, you are the first and last point of contact for our guests. You play a critical role in setting the tone for the dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring smooth guest flow throughout the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests promptly and professionally, creating a positive first impression.
- Manage the reservation system accurately, including guest preferences and special requests.
- Seat guests efficiently based on availability, preferences, and service flow.
- Provide accurate wait times and manage guest expectations during peak hours.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable host stand and lobby area.
- Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure seamless operations.
- Anticipate guest needs and address concerns promptly and graciously.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
- Maintain working knowledge of menus, specials, events, and restaurant ambiance.
- Perform additional front-of-house duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with reservation platforms such as OpenTable or Resy preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move efficiently throughout the dining room.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and hospitality standards.
