Position Summary
As a Server at Meat Market Steakhouse, you will provide polished, attentive, and knowledgeable table service throughout the guest dining experience. This role requires strong menu expertise, professional presentation, and the ability to anticipate guest needs while maintaining flawless service flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and guide them through the dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of steak cuts, cooking temperatures, sauces, sides, and menu offerings.
- Provide thoughtful recommendations and tactfully upsell premium steaks, wines, cocktails, sides, and desserts.
- Serve food and beverages with precise timing and attention to presentation.
- Monitor tables throughout service to ensure guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Coordinate with runners, bussers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly set tables according to fine dining standards.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with wine service and collaborate with bartenders or sommeliers as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant service.
- Strong knowledge of steak cuts, cooking temperatures, and basic wine service.
- Excellent communication, memory, and guest relations skills.
- Professional appearance and confident, courteous demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- ServSafe certification or food safety knowledge preferred.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays.
