Job Description :

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production mechanics, including the proper use of replacement parts inventory, preventive and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the preventive and corrective maintenance program for electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment according to the policies, SOP, and forms generated in the department and carry it out efficiently together with department personnel.
  • Document the maintenance program, maintenance policies and SOPs.

Determine immediate and/or temporary repairs on production lines without affecting the safety of the product.

  • Notify potential product hazards identified by any member of the department to the direct Supervisor and the Quality Manager in order to mitigate them using the appropriate designated structure.
  • Solve simple and critical problems that can directly affect the product, doing situation analysis and logical reasoning to determine the root of the problem.
  • Carry out improvement training for mechanics.
  • Direct operational shifts of mechanical employees in production support, delegating tasks to keep the company up and running.
  • Balance and authorize payroll for your group of employees.
  • Carry out performance evaluations and the necessary progressive discipline process for the personnel under your charge.
  • Analyze problems and/or situations found during the maintenance process, whether corrective or preventive, communicating them to your immediate supervisor.
  • Conduct investigations, root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for problem resolution.
  • Meet the requirements of the Food Safety and Product Safety program.
  • Any other task related to the position that is required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University in Puerto Rico or the United States.
  • Industrial mechanic Experience – Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Language – Mastery of the Spanish and English language, both in oral and written expression.
  • Licenses – Engineering (preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge – Knowledge in mechanics, tool & die or related area.
  • Knowledge of programming logic circuits and reading and interpreting electrical, structural, stormwater (sanitary and drinking) and electronic plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word and Power Point and knowledge of writing procedures.
