1. POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of HVAC Systems and Components including pumps, pipes, insulation, chillers, AC units, DX units, coils, thermostats, ducts, diffusers, AHU’s, fans, electric motors, VFD’s, PCA units, among others. Completes and documents work order requests submitted by Airport personnel and/or Supervisor.  Performs other scheduled maintenance and inspection works following Maintenance Plan.  Strictly follows applicable codes and standard as well as safety requirements. Coordinates resources, equipment and materials required to perform the work effectively and efficiently.

2. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Repair or service heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants.

Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, timers or cooling systems.

Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.

Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.

Connect air conditioning equipment to water or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.

Install auxiliary components to cooling equipment, such as expansion or discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers or dampers.

Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls, power sources and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.

Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.

Document work using CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters.

Install magnetic-centrifugal chillers, compressors, or related equipment to cool air temperatures through the use of recirculating water.

Operate and perform maintenance work on equipment and components following O&M manuals, design, specifications.

Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment.

Use BMS Building Management System to monitor and control HVAC Systems, including main chiller plants and temperature and humidity in zones.

Uses the corresponding safety equipment and complies with the established regulations.
