Job Description :

We are recruiting Health and Safety Specialist for the Construction Industry

Location: San Juan, PR

Description:
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining occupational health and safety programs. Reviews and updates policies and preventive measures according to applicable regulations. Investigate and report accidents, perform risk assessments and provide statistics and measurements to your supervisor. Updating and maintaining security training.

Requirements:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or BS in Occupational Safety and Health or related area
  • 5+ years experience in similar position
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • OSHA 10 to 30-hour certification
  • OSHA-licensed General Industry and Construction instructor preferred.
  • Be fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Mastery of programs related to MS Office, among others.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability to give presentations and training.
  • In-depth knowledge of provincial or territorial environmental policies.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the workplace is monitored and complies with all applicable OSHA standards, rules and regulations to maintain safety in manufacturing facilities.
  • Use labels, signs, posters, floor markings, and color codes to warn employees of potential hazards.
  • Ensure safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained and communicated to employees.
  • Highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet standards imposed by legislation, approved codes of practice or H.S.E. guide.
  • Ensure that all “assessments” required by legislation are carried out and reviewed at relevant intervals and maintain records of these.
  • Closely monitor the activities of subcontractors and ensure their compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports on all company operations.
